Amity University Kolkata Welcomes 2,500+ Students, Reaffirms Commitment to Future-Ready Education

Amity University Kolkata welcomed over 2,500 new students at its Orientation Programme 2026 held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, marking the beginning of a transformative academic journey.
The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan, Prof. (Dr.) Sanku Bose, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Kolkata, Shri U. Ramachandran, Senior Vice President, Amity Education Group, and Dr. Preeti Sahni, Vice President – Marketing, Outreach & Admission, Amity Education Group. The programme commenced with Vedic Hawan, ceremonial lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana.
Addressing the new students, Prof. (Dr.) Sanku Bose outlined AUK’s vision of preparing students not merely for today’s careers, but for the rapidly changing world of tomorrow. He emphasised that “your career begins today”, introducing the AUK Career 360 Framework to provide structured career development from Day One, aligned with students’ aspirations, strengths and professional goals.
A key highlight of the address was AUK’s commitment to developing graduates who are AI-enabled and financially competent. The Vice Chancellor described Artificial Intelligence and Financial Intelligence as essential survival tools for tomorrow, and announced that students will study both as part of their academic journey.
Emphasising “Collaboration over Competition,” Prof. Bose encouraged students to learn from one another, embrace diversity, participate in research and innovation, and develop the ability to work collectively to solve complex problems.
The Chancellor, Dr. Atul Chauhan, highlighted Amity’s emphasis on research-driven learning, interdisciplinary collaboration and holistic development, while Shri U. Ramachandran emphasised adaptability, global vision and empathetic leadership.
The Orientation Programme marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Class of 2026, with AUK reaffirming its commitment to creating confident, ethical, AI-enabled, financially competent and globally aware graduates ready to shape the future.
